"Mega Beast!" Producer, NYC http://www.daybydayent.com/ http://www.dub-l.com/ Page 1 | 2 Lee: If you were able to transform this album into a film, which actor do you feel would best represent that role? How long would this film be? In what areas would you like to shoot episodes like "Deep Impact" and "87 Monkeys"? DL: Interesting question. I think it would mostly be shot in here NYC. I would want a new jack actor to play the main part, a young producer and musician trying to make it in the city in an over saturated market. The film would be 122 minutes. All the songs would transfer in to scenes in the time line of the story, it would take place in a span 2 or 3 months with a lot of flashbacks to tell the story. L: On the "Roll the 10 sided Di interlude" a board game is going on. How do you measure up against Grimm on the chessboard? DL: Don't know, probably not to good. We'll play and let you know how it goes. L: Day By Day Entertainment and the Day of the Mega Beast: How did this come together? As a label what does Day By Day Entertainment provide for this album? DL: Day By Day got a lot of stuff going on and had the street respect and vision to do this album. It was really time for me to do an album on my own away from all my collab work in the last couple years and they let me run with it and supported the album whatever my crazy ideas were. I'm not big on the whole business end of the record industry it just makes me tired. L: How has radio been treating the release in New York? As a DJ, how much radio work do you do? Is Day of the Mega Beast on vinyl, at least in your collection? If a radio network could broadcast to the globe, with a billion listeners in tune, what track of the Day of the Mega Beast would you drop for them? DL: They run shit out here on some of the main stations. People really have been choosing their own stuff to play as singles for now. The Gathering is the most unique track because of its amount of features so I'd say I'd run that on the radio. I really do mostly clubs and performances so it's likely I'd run the faster and or more bouncy ones in the clubs, Ghetto Rhyme Story featuring Percee-P, World Premier featuring Hangar 18, The I.N.I feat. Jemini The Gifted One, Mega Beast Theme Song feat. MONSTERZ (Rahzel, C-Rayz Walz, Breez Eva Flowin Dub-L and DJ JS-1). No wax yet on the full length but there's plans for it's release. L: In no more than five words, describe 2004. DL: Work. Progress. Just Another Year. L: Thank you for the interview. DL: No doubt stay up and shut em down.
