First year of graduate school is complete, the same slot time, Friday's 2 to 5 pm, Soul Session and The Representation Show. This semester Aqui se puede completed production on their 2nd documentary/soundtrack project titled Youth Addressing Justicia: An ASP Experience which was also accompanied with a photography/poetry booklet. Shout out to Hexsag0n, Avoid the Lyricist and Skammadix for their contributions to the documentary's music. The two projects were put together from a semester long effort of participating with local/national/global groups for the 2nd Annual J. Paul Taylor Symposium on Social Justice for Women. For more information on the symposium on the Juarez Femicide please click HERE | for more information on Aqui se puede's involvement you can also visit aquisepuede.net. This semester we also aired pt. 2 of A Session of Chicanoa which featured poetry from Emmy Perez and raulsalinas and continued Youth Radio. 2006 also marked the first interview for a section of the site dedicated to the beat maker for the Online REPshow Radio program. The first producer interviewed for the Online REPshow Radio program was Skammadix from NY. Interviews for the REPview section of the site also continued with Sam Qureshi, busker and jazz musician from the UK. Both producers/musicians were featured on MF Grimm's American Hunger released in July 2006 through Day By Day Entertainment. Rest in peace to James "Jay Dee" Yancey. God bless. |
