Biography
The semester kicked off Sept. 10, 2007: The Soul Session & Representation Show programs from 6 to 10 pm every Tuesday night w/ Lee and co-host, Jus who would contribute his voice, thoughts and music to the 91.5 airwaves.  On scheduled nights, DJ SA would also provide 60-minute mix sessions that broadcasted from 9-10 pm.  The end of the year also closed with a recap of the Best of 2007 playlist and commentary post

During the summer, Mrs. LaShonda Teague and Monte Smith planned an interview, written by Lee and conducted with
Kwame Teague, author of the Dutch Trilogy.  The interview was posted onto the REPview section of the site in September. 2007 also marked Lee's first semester teaching an English course at New Mexico State University.

In September, poet, Michael G. from the
Voices Behind Walls program was published in The Beat Within, a weekly publication of writing and art inside juvenile halls in California and across the United States | click here for more information.  The Voices Behind Walls which had begun to implement chess as a component of the class during the Spring semester of 07', also began to hold monthly chess tournaments and continued to promote and conduct Youth Radio programming at the J. Paul Taylor Detention Center and the Stepping Stones Group Home in Las Cruces, NM.

The semester also brought together the early beginnings of
soulVerse.  Shout out to Phil, Jus, Chris, Brian and Henry Helmet!

Towards the end of the semester the Voices Behind Walls program was awarded with the
English Department Graduate Student Endowment Fund Award and began making its first steps towards becoming an official non-profit organization.

The year closed strong, opening new opportunities, ideas and goals for 2008.  A year that will become one of transitions, change, closed chapters and tape sides (A | B).
